The game is afoot!
The film opens with Sherlock and Watson stopping a ceremonial sacrifice, exposing the villain of the crime to be a member of the peerage, Lord Blackwood. Lord Blackwood then hangs for his crimes. Enter Irene Adler to enlist Sherlock in finding a missing person. The missing person is found in Lord Blackwood’s coffin while Lord Blackwood himself has risen from the grave. Now the duo are off to find out Blackwood’s endgame and to put a stop to him.
Overall entertaining with all the aspects seeming to come together. The casting of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law was interesting and they played off of each other brilliantly. The bromance between Holmes and Watson is alive and well. Something that is sometimes overlooked is the score in a feature film. The music moved seamlessly from being noticed to not in the background and when heard provides an element that completes the picture.
