Danville Public Library has been using Beanstack for reading programs this year, where patrons can track their reading and share reviews. For the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting Patron reviews from Beanstack.
This is my first cozy mystery. The plot follows people from a countryside town in England who are part of the town’s Jane Austen bookclub society. When their president is intentionally murdered everyone is concerned and tongues are flapping. One member of the society Erin Coleridge, a bookshop owner, and amateur sleuth, decides to follow the clues and help the detectives, but this leads to danger for her and other members of society. It is a pleasant and easy read. I think the clues were jumbled all over the place. Even in the explanation at the end, it seemed to lack emotion, but perhaps that is the British way. I think I would enjoy a mystery thriller as opposed to a cozy mystery.
