Native American Storytelling with Gerald Savage

Native American Storytelling
Gerald Savage, is a Ho-Chunk nation tribal elder, and an Illinois Road Scholar. Ho-Chunk Ska Ga is his formal native name, (White Winnebago) and is the oldest grandson of Chief Walks with the Wind. Gerald will share Native American Stories from long ago, and some tribal history. Gerald was born and raised in the traditions of the Ho-Chunk tribal ways. His family resided in Starved Rock State Park area since 1935. Ho-Chunk Ska Ga will explain “Waika” and its timing and meaning. And the season for storytelling. The majority of the stories are Ho-Chunk Stories and a few other tribal stories as well.
