Fingersmith is a term used for a pickpocket in England, which is appropriate since this is a novel about one such young lady and her profession. Susan is born into the life of a Fingersmith, but she has been asked by a colleague to trick a young woman to marry him and then place her into an insane asylum in order to steal her money. The plan goes well until Susan begins to like the victim and she finds herself a victim of her own plan. This book is divided into 3 parts. The first and last are from the point of view of the Fingersmith, the middle from the point of view of the victim. I very much enjoyed Susan’s voice but could not stand the point of view of the victim. Try this book for yourself, maybe it is just me.
