The story of a shy girl named Jerrica Benton who becomes an internet singing sensation but did it as her alter ego Jem. She is then plucked for her normal life to go to Los Angels after signing a record deal. What ensues is a little mystery left by her deceased father along with the trials and tribulations of being an overnight success.
After being a fan of the original cartoon of the same name I was thoroughly disappointed by this. I just don’t think it had the same feel of the original. The only things that were in common were character names and some of the origin story itself. In the studio’s defense turning a cartoon into a live action feature is not the easiest thing in the world to do.
