Do you have the urge to read a new book at midnight when the library is closed? The Digital Library of Illinois is here for you! The digital library offers a massive number of ebook, eaudiobook and magazine titles available to browse and borrow for free with your library card at any time of the day or night.
Also available on your phone or tablet via the Libby app.
Monday Spotlight: Local History at the Library
Do you have a burning question about Danville’s past that you want answered? The archive is here for you! We offer back issues of the Danville Commercial News on Microfilm as well as a plethora of documents like city directories, high school year books and other historical documents. Library staff is available to assist in directing you to where you need to go.
The archive is available by appointment any time the library is open. You can reserve a spot by calling (217) 477-5228, emailing reference_desk@danvillepubliclibrary.org or filling out our form here.
Monday Spotlight: Library YouTube
Did a virtual program interest you, but it’s already over? Check out our YouTube page! Most of our Zoom programming is uploaded to the page, so if you want to catch up on what you missed, or watch something again you can access it anytime you want. Our YouTube page also features exclusive content from our library staff members like craft demonstrations and storytimes.
Monday Spotlight: Cherry & Jerry Ragtime Concert
Explore some of the early African-American composers and performers who were instrumental in creating ragtime, jazz, and blues. 1:00 p.m. on Zoom.
Monday Spotlight: StoryWalk®
Enjoy a quiet walk and read a book! We have Click, Clack, Moo by Doreen Cronin on our back (South) windows all month in February. (The side facing Madison St.)
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
