Master Gardeners Seminar: Using Drip & Spray Irrigation
March 15, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Vermilion County Master Gardeners will host Randy Smith to discuss different drip and spray irrigation methods for gardeners. Randy will give a presentation with photos from his landscape where 100% of the plants are watered thru drip or spray irrigation methods because they use well water. He will explain how to set up a system, different applications and bring samples of equipment he uses.
Studies show drip and spray irrigation is a sustainable way to water your plants.
Drip Irrigation can be used in raised beds, containers, window boxes, and your landscape. In addition to saving water, there are other advantages:
– Less fungal diseases when foliage is kept dry
– Weed seeds will not be able to sprout by taking advantage of water runoff
– Less time spent watering your garden leaves more time for other tasks or leisure
– Studies show, with drip irrigation, about 90 to 95 percent of the water goes into the soil and not wasted.
Join the Vermilion County Master Gardeners when they host Randy Smith on Tuesday, March 15 at 6 p.m. at the Danville Library 319 Vermilion St Danville, IL First Floor Conference Room.
There is no charge to attend; however, we ask that attendees please register here so we have adequate handouts.
