Services to Persons Unable to Visit the Library
Do you, or someone you know, have a temporary or permanent physical problem that prevents them from coming to the Danville Public Library? The Outreach Services Department staff and its volunteers will deliver library materials free of charge.
Our volunteers deliver to Danville residents in their homes, senior citizen apartments, nursing homes, CRIS Healthy-Aging Center, OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, and more.
Help someone enjoy reading again with our homebound materials, including large print books and audiobooks from a wide variety of authors.
For more information on deliveries or volunteer opportunities, contact us using the phone number or email address above.
Services at Community Events
Outreach Services can come to your event free of charge! We are often seen at community events, such as the OSF Festival of Trees, Arts in the Park, St. James Food Pantry days, and other events. We can offer short picture book readings, simple craft activities, and/or share information about the library’s services.
Services for Daycares, Preschools, and Youth Organizations
Danville Public Library can perform a storytime at your daycare, preschool, or youth organization as a one-time event or work it into our weekly or monthly schedule free of charge. In the summer, we offer a special summer reading program that includes fun weekly stories and activities.
